Virginia legislators need to hear from you right away!
Some lawmakers are trying to harm small businesses by secretly attaching language to the state budget that will end the operation of skill games in our state.
This would be terrible for the state economy if it passes. One reason is that skill games tax revenue can offset high gas prices, which is good for everyone. And they create jobs.
Skill games also support Virginia small businesses by providing restaurants and bars with needed supplemental income. Especially during these hard times, businesses count on this revenue. They use the funds to help pay staff, operational costs and even employee health benefits.
In addition, the majority of the revenue generated by skill games stays right here in Virginia, while traditional casino gambling profits are spent outside of the state.
Please reach out to your delegate and senator and ask them to support skill games and stop the misguided effort to end them. Remind lawmakers that backing skill games also means backing small businesses, the foundation of our economy.
